Dear Friends,
We hope this message finds you well. Our community is on a journey of growth and improvement, and we are reaching out to you for your valuable support. Several essential projects require attention, and we believe that together, we can create a thriving environment for all.
A Brief overview of 2023:
In 2023, significant improvements were made at Lotus Chapel Colony, including the removal of six trees at the entrance, relocation of our second large water storage tank for better accessibility, trimming trees to create clear pathways, and enhancing safety by cleaning debris from the site where a mobile home was removed. The service road from the camping area to the southern entrance of the Trail of the Gurus saw extensive maintenance, with the Trail itself and six mandir sites for the Gurus becoming more defined through meticulous work with chainsaw, pole saw, and handsaws. Building renovations are underway, with painting initiated on the first-floor exterior walls, and a generous donation of a third twin bed now provides increased accommodations in the sleeping area. These improvements mark a year of progress and community development.
Current priorities needing your support:
- Roof Repair, Insulation, and Drywall: Essential repairs are needed in our common house to ensure comfort of our guests and residents.
- Water Infrastructure: Urgent attention is required for our water systems, including adequate piping from two large existing 2000 gal tanks and adequate piping from the tanks to our common house. The electrical system for the pump at the common house also needs fixing so that we can utilize our water supply.
- Land Beautification: Our vision is to transform our community into a parklike environment. Your contributions will support landscaping and green initiatives, enhancing the overall appeal and well-being of our community.
- Entrance Repair: The entrance to our community needs repair to enhance safety and aesthetics for everyone.
- Drainage Maintenance: Clearing and maintaining our drainage systems are crucial to prevent flooding and ensure proper water flow, safeguarding our community against water-related issues.
- Building projects: Utilizing sustainably harvested wood on our property for construction of essential structures such as outhouses, mandirs, and cabins, contributing to the growth and development of communal spaces.
- Tree Maintenance: Fallen trees pose risks to our community’s safety and accessibility. Donations will be used to purchase additional equipment to remove fallen trees and maintain a secure and pleasant environment for all.
